Symphonic Band

Greetings and welcome to the Gilford High School Symphonic Band Web Site!  The band, which contains approximately 50 students throughout the high school, is currently under the direction of Mrs. Lyvie Beyrent.

The band is very active throughout the year and is a mixed combination of a Marching Band, Pep Band, and Symphonic Band. The Gilford Marching Band starts the school year off with the annual Santa Clause Parade held in Downtown Laconia. The Gilford Pep Band performs at most of the volleyball and basketball games as well as several championship matches.

During the winter and spring, the Gilford Symphonic Band presents several concerts, as well as a Monster Band Concert in May. Selected band members are represented in many honors groups, such as All-State, All-New England Band, New England Music Festival and National Honors Band. Many band members also participate in the Belknap Mtn. Invitational Music Festival, New Hampshire Solo and Ensemble Festival, and some choose to perform solos and ensembles for the Un-Classical and Classical Night Club.

Meadowbrook has started a pilot program in the Gilford School District and is setting us up with SmartMusic, a new technology that helps and encourages students to practice and become better musicians.  Check out SmartMusic here!
