Lyvie Beyrent, Director
Gilford Middle-High School Instrumental Director

Mrs. Beyrent started her career at Lebanon Junior High School in August of 2004 teaching 7th and 8th grade band and general music/guitar.  The following year she was hired at Gilford Middle-High School as the Instrumental Band Director.  In the past ten years at Gilford High School, the HS Band has received many excellent, superior and best overall band awards.  Many students have participated in festivals such as All-State, All-New England Band Festival, the New England Music Festival, the John Philip Sousa Honor Band and the NAMfE All-National Band, as well as gone on to major in music education at colleges such as Penn State, UNH and Berklee School of Music.

Mrs. Beyrent is a graduate of Gilford High School in Gilford, NH from the class of 2000 and received a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of New Hampshire in 2004.  While at UNH, she was a member of the Symphonic Band, Wind Symphony, Wildcat Marching Band, Pep Band and Symphony Orchestra.  Additionally, she was an active member of Kappa Kappa Psi, an honorary band fraternity, and Tri-M.  In 2011 she received a Master of Education in Instrumental Music Education from Plymouth State University, graduating Summa Cum Laude.  During this time she was a member of the Plymouth State Unviersity Symphonic Band playing piccolo.

Mrs. Beyrent was also a member of the Dartmouth College Wind Symphony, playing piccolo, and returned to her alma mater in the fall to play for their annual fall musical from 1997-2004.  She is a member of the Music Educators National Conference, the N.H. Music Educators Association and the N.H. Band Directors Association.  She has also made guest appearances with the Carter Mountain Brass Band, playing percussion and the Lakes Region Symphony Orchestra, playing piccolo.

In the summertime you can find her giving private flute and piccolo lessons in the Lakes Region area as well as directing the Gilford Community Band.  Additionally, she works at Hannaford in the Produce Department.  In her “spare time” she enjoys skiing, biking, running and playing with her two dogs: Jazz, Caydence, and cat Lyric.
